The Friends of Fort Knox received an interesting email recently from the producer of the SyFy Channel’s hit series, “Ghost Hunters.” According to the email, the producer was searching the Internet and came upon reports of paranormal activity occurring at the state historic site.

The Ghost Hunters investigate the hanger near the crash site of the Hindenburg. Tonight’s season finale episode of the Ghost Hunters brought the TAPS team to the crash site of the German zeppelin the Hindenburg, at the Lakehurst Naval Base in Lakehurst, New Jersey.

Consigning Reality to Ghosts

THE ghostbusters of reality television never actually see dead people. They spend an awful lot of time talking to them, though:.

“Come on, you coward, where are you?” – “Paranormal State”

“Can you please walk towards me?” – “Ghost Hunters”

“Is there a spooky ghost here?” – “South Park”

O.K., that last one was a ringer. But as usual, “South Park,” in an October episode viciously mocking “Ghost Hunters” and the genre it helped spawn, captured the feelings of the doubters among us. (Of this doubter anyway.)
