I desperately want to investigate this place. There is a new padlock on the chain link fence, however, and someone is mowing the grass . . . so it doesn't look good for paranormal investigators.

Today was like Christmas day come early for me, as I found out we have our own haunted abandoned hospital and sanitorium here in Duluth. Well at least it's for sure abandoned, not sure on the haunted part. Due in large part to a tip I recieved via Facebook, I was told of the existence of the Nopeming Hospital and Sanitorium. This large hospital and sanitorium was operated from 1912 through its closing in 1971. Its original purpose was as a tuburculousis hospital when opened. Upon its closing in 1971, the secluded facility was convered to a nursing home, which it served as until its closing in 2002. Since that time the building has sat abandoned, except for the occational thrill seeker and ghost hunter to explore.

I'm hoping to go back there again soon and spend a day playing amateur ghost hunter and photographer to determin if there is, in fact, any paranormal activity associated with the over 6,000 deaths that occured during its years in operation!
